What does a crab cost?
The five bee hoon and crab styles are priced by the size of the crab. Weights are from the kitchen's printed menu, except the XL+, whose weight is not published. All prices are in Singapore dollars and are as of October 2026, so check the official site before you order.
Two notes. Cheese Crab Bee Hoon is offered only in Medium and above. The Golden Salted Egg Crab is priced separately: Medium $68.80, Large $88.80 and XL $108.80.
How do I choose a size?
The kitchen does not publish a serving guide for the signature sizes, so we will not invent one. A fair way to decide is to ask the outlet when you order, and to remember that the price rises with the weight. A Regular is 350 to 400g and costs $39.80, while an XL at 700 to 800g costs $88.80. For a table of three or four, the shared sets in our post on the sharing sets state how many each serves.
How much notice does crab need?
One day. The catalogue asks for whole crab dishes to be ordered one day ahead of the serving date. The two bee hoon sets need three hours. That is a rule of the ordering system, not a courtesy, so a walk-in cannot assume the dish is waiting.
Where is the crab served?
- Tyrwhitt Road flagship: the full crab range, including seasonal dishes and the sharing sets. Dine-in and self pick-up.
- AMK Hub kiosk: a limited range of two dishes, the Crab Bee Hoon Soup and the Crab Laksa Bee Hoon.
- Wisma Atria, Tiong Bahru Plaza and White Sands: pie kiosks with no crab.
Addresses and hours are on the outlets page. There is no Toa Payoh outlet today. The crab bee hoon does have a history in Toa Payoh, which donpies.com's crab bee hoon story tells.
Beyond the six: sets and smaller plates
Three crab sets serve tables of two to four, and a group of Hokkaido crab meat dishes serves one or two. They are written up in the news:
What should I know about allergens and diet?
Crab dishes contain shellfish. The Cheese Crab Bee Hoon contains dairy. The kitchen states that its products contain nuts, eggs, dairy and gluten, and that the crab soup is cooked with Chinese cooking wine and herbs including dang gui (angelica root). There is no pork and no lard in the kitchen. The kitchen is not Halal-certified.
How do I order?
Pre-order on the kitchen's ordering site, buy.chickenpie.sg, for dine-in or self pick-up at 39 Tyrwhitt Road, or for delivery, which is priced by distance. Payment is taken when you order, and the site does not allow amendments or cancellations afterwards. The hotline is +65 6993 3333.
