# The Don Pie Club (donpieclub.sg): full text > News, seasons and events from Chicken Pie Kitchen & Don Signature Crab, Singapore. Prices and hours as of October 2026. Last updated: October 2026. --- # Three crab sets for sharing: Luxurious, Flounder's and Festive URL: https://donpieclub.sg/news/three-crab-sets-for-sharing/ Published: 8 October 2026. Facts checked: 8 October 2026. **Quick answer:** The kitchen lists three crab sets for tables of two to four: the Luxurious Seafood Bee Hoon at $68.80 (serves 2 to 3), The Flounder's Crabby Choice at $88.80 (serves 3 to 4) and the seasonal Festive Seasonal Crab at $58.80 (serves 2 to 3). The two bee hoon sets need three hours' notice. The signature crab dishes are priced by the size of one whole mud crab. The kitchen also lists three sets aimed at tables of two to four, built around flower crab, a different crab from the mud crab used in the signature dishes, together with shellfish and bee hoon. This post lines them up. ## What is each set? | Set | Price | Serves | Notice | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Luxurious Seafood Bee Hoon | $68.80 | 2 to 3 | 3 hours | | The Flounder's Crabby Choice | $88.80 | 3 to 4 | 3 hours | | Festive Seasonal Crab | $58.80 | 2 to 3 | Not stated in the catalogue | **Luxurious Seafood Bee Hoon.** Scallops, clams, prawns and sweet flower crab on bee hoon. You choose the sauce: a rich laksa broth, a savoury seafood gravy or a black pepper sauce. You also choose thin or thick bee hoon. The photograph shows the set with three small bowls of sauce. **The Flounder's Crabby Choice.** A broth brewed with dried flounder, dang gui (angelica root) and sweet yam, with scallops, prawns, a pair of flower crab and thick bee hoon. The dried flounder is the kitchen's chosen base for the broth. The catalogue card for the set carries the words "Seasonal Menu, Exclusively at 39 Tyrwhitt Road". **Festive Seasonal Crab.** A fleshy, sweet seasonal flower crab. This is the one set marked as seasonal in the catalogue. Its photograph shows a gold ornamental hammer, and the note on the photograph says that the Golden Hammer Set is to be purchased separately and that the photograph is for illustration only. We have no listing for the price of that hammer set. ## How do you choose between them? - **Table of two or three, wanting variety:** the Luxurious Seafood Bee Hoon, because it mixes scallops, clams, prawns and crab and lets you choose the sauce. - **Table of three or four, wanting a broth:** The Flounder's Crabby Choice, because it serves the most people and has the dried flounder broth. - **Table of two or three, wanting the crab itself:** the Festive Seasonal Crab, which is the lowest price of the three and is focused on a single seasonal crab. ## Flower crab or mud crab? The signature dishes use a whole mud crab that comes by size, from Regular to XL+. The sets use flower crab, which the catalogue calls sweet. The two are different animals, and the sets are written as shared, composed dishes rather than a single crab on a plate. If you want one big crab, go to [the crab page](/crab/). If you want a spread, choose a set. ## What should you know about notice and place? The two bee hoon sets need three hours' notice, which is far shorter than the day's notice for a whole crab dish. That makes them the easier crab option for a same-day plan, but only if you order through the ordering site early enough. The full crab range, which includes the sets, is prepared at the Tyrwhitt Road flagship (see the [outlets page](/outlets/)), and the [Hokkaido crab meat dishes](/news/hokkaido-crab-meat-dishes/) are the smaller plates from the same catalogue. The AMK Hub kiosk carries only the Crab Bee Hoon Soup and the Crab Laksa Bee Hoon, so do not expect a set there. ## What about allergens? All three sets contain shellfish. The Luxurious Seafood Bee Hoon includes clams and scallops. The kitchen states that its products contain nuts, eggs, dairy and gluten, and that its crab soup is cooked with Chinese cooking wine and herbs. There is no pork and no lard in the kitchen, and the kitchen is not Halal-certified. **Update, 8 October 2026.** Prices and servings are from the catalogue as read on 8 October 2026 and are as of October 2026. Seasonal items such as the Festive Seasonal Crab can leave the menu without notice, so check before you plan a dinner around one. Order line: Listed in the ordering catalogue as of 8 October 2026. Order at buy.chickenpie.sg (https://buy.chickenpie.sg) Sources: - Kitchen ordering catalogue, read 8 October 2026 --- # The Mother's Day Signature Experience 2026 URL: https://donpieclub.sg/news/mothers-day-signature-experience-2026/ Published: 8 October 2026. Facts checked: 8 October 2026. **Quick answer:** The Mother's Day Signature Experience 2026 was a seasonal set built around an XL+ whole crab, cooked in either Chilli or Ginger and Scallion style. Mother's Day 2026 was Sunday 10 May. It was a limited run and has ended. We hold no price for the full experience. Mother's Day 2026 fell on Sunday 10 May, and the kitchen's seasonal centrepiece for it was the Mother's Day Signature Experience. This is a short, careful record of what the ordering catalogue says about it. We have left out anything the catalogue does not say. ## What was the Signature Experience? A set built around one very large crab. The catalogue names an XL+ whole crab, cooked in your choice of two styles: Chilli, or Ginger and Scallion. XL+ is the kitchen's largest crab size, and it sits above the XL on the size ladder. The product photograph shows a whole crab with its claws raised, steaming in a pink cast-iron pot, in the same visual language as the pot used the year before. We do not have a published description of what else came with the set. ## Why choose Chilli or Ginger and Scallion? They are different answers to the same crab. Chilli is one of the five signature styles the kitchen cooks all year, described on [the crab page](/crab/) as a blend of sweet, spicy and savoury elements. Ginger and Scallion is a lighter, aromatic pairing, and it is not one of the six signature dishes, which makes it a feature of the seasonal set. That is a description of the two names, not a tasting note, because we are not going to invent one. ## What did the crab cost? The XL+ crab is priced at $128.80 on the catalogue's standard size list. That is the price of the crab size across the signature dishes, and it is not the price of the Mother's Day Signature Experience, which we do not hold. If you are comparing the two, treat $128.80 as a reference point only. | Size | Price on the standard size list | | --- | --- | | Regular | $39.80 | | Medium | $58.80 | | Large | $73.80 | | XL | $88.80 | | XL+ | $128.80 | ## How is it different from the 2025 offer? In 2025 the centrepiece was steamed crab on glutinous rice in a pink pot at $288, with two set menus; the facts are in the [Mother's Day 2025 post](/news/mothers-day-2025-the-mother-of-all-pots/). In 2026 the catalogue describes a single "Signature Experience" around an XL+ whole crab. The 2025 pot and the 2026 set both put a pink cast-iron pot in the photograph, and both were seasonal, crab-led and linked to the flagship. They are not the same product and we do not treat them as one. ## What does it say about Mother's Day at the kitchen? Two years of evidence is not a pattern with a promise attached, but it is a pattern: the kitchen marks Mother's Day with a crab centrepiece, announced for a short window. What we cannot say is when the next pre-order window opens, what it will include or what it will cost. The [Mother's Day season page](/seasons/mothers-day/) keeps the facts of both years side by side, and the [Join page](/join/) is how you hear about the next one first. ## What should you check if a similar set returns? - The window of dates, which for 2025 was three days. - The lead time. Whole crab dishes need a day's notice. - The outlet, because the full crab range is prepared at 39 Tyrwhitt Road. - Shellfish allergies, since the centrepiece is a whole crab. **Update, 8 October 2026.** This post is dated to the day we wrote it, because the catalogue gives no launch date for the 2026 set. It was a limited run tied to Mother's Day and it has ended, so no price or availability on this page is an offer. Chef Don Lim still appears at the kitchen's events, and any event announcement goes to the list first. Order line: The 2026 Mother's Day set was a limited run. See what is on the ordering site now at buy.chickenpie.sg (https://buy.chickenpie.sg) Sources: - Kitchen ordering catalogue, read 8 October 2026 (Mother's Day Signature Experience, 2026) --- # The Hokkaido crab meat dishes: rice, omelette and crab cakes URL: https://donpieclub.sg/news/hokkaido-crab-meat-dishes/ Published: 8 October 2026. Facts checked: 8 October 2026. **Quick answer:** The kitchen's Hokkaido crab meat dishes are lighter, smaller plates than a whole crab: Crab Meat Fried Rice at $16.80, with omelette at $22.80, an Egg Omelette with Hokkaido Crab Meat at $21.80, Homemade Hokkaido Crab Cakes at $15.80 and Hokkaido Seafood Fried Rice at $28.80. A metal crab cracker is $5.80. Not every crab occasion needs a whole crab. The kitchen's catalogue also lists a group of smaller dishes built around Hokkaido crab meat. They suit one or two people, a side to a bigger meal or a first taste of the crab side of the kitchen. ## What is on the list? | Dish | Price | What it is | | --- | --- | --- | | Crab Meat Fried Rice | $16.80 | Fried rice with Hokkaido crab meat, made with Akita rice | | Crab Meat Fried Rice with Omelette | $22.80 | The same rice under an omelette | | Egg Omelette with Hokkaido Crab Meat | $21.80 | An omelette with crab meat | | Homemade Hokkaido Crab Cakes | $15.80 | Crab cakes with garlic mayo and chilli sauce | | Hokkaido Seafood Fried Rice | $28.80 | Scallops, prawns, crab meat and furikake, serves 1 | | Limited Edition Metal Crab Cracker | $5.80 | A crab cracker tool | On the printed menu, the two Crab Meat Fried Rice dishes sit under the heading "Wok on the Wild Side", and the crab cakes and the omelette are listed among the starters. ## What is Hokkaido crab meat? The catalogue says Hokkaido crab meat, which tells you the origin the kitchen names for the crab meat in these dishes. The whole crabs in the signature dishes are described on the menu as Sri Lankan mud crabs. The two are different products with different jobs: the meat goes into rice, omelettes and cakes where picking is already done, and the whole crab is something you work through at the table. ## Which one should you try first? - **The Crab Meat Fried Rice.** The simplest entry point, at $16.80, and it uses Akita rice, a Japanese short-grain variety. - **The omelette dishes.** If you like a soft egg dish, the rice with omelette or the plain Egg Omelette with Hokkaido Crab Meat are the options, at $22.80 and $21.80. - **The crab cakes.** At $15.80 they are the cheapest crab-meat dish and the one that works as a shared starter. - **The Hokkaido Seafood Fried Rice.** The most expensive, at $28.80, and the only one that adds scallops and prawns. The catalogue says it serves one. ## What about the crab cracker? It is a limited edition metal crab cracker, $5.80, and it is for people who plan to eat a whole crab. The photograph in the catalogue shows a silver cracker lying across a bowl of crab laksa, with the kitchen's name engraved on it. We do not hold its size or material beyond "metal", and we are not going to guess. ## Where are these dishes served? The full crab range is prepared at the Tyrwhitt Road flagship. The AMK Hub kiosk carries a limited crab range of only the Crab Bee Hoon Soup and the Crab Laksa Bee Hoon, so the dishes on this page are not a safe bet there. The [outlets page](/outlets/) lists both, and the [crab page](/crab/) puts the whole-crab dishes beside these smaller plates. ## What should you know about allergens? These dishes contain shellfish, and the omelette dishes contain egg. The kitchen states that its products contain nuts, eggs, dairy and gluten. The kitchen uses no pork and no lard and is not Halal-certified. **Update, 8 October 2026.** Prices are as of October 2026 and taken from the ordering catalogue. Catalogue items change, so check the ordering site, and read the [February 2026 menu post](/news/the-february-2026-menu/) if you want to compare the printed prices. Order at buy.chickenpie.sg (https://buy.chickenpie.sg) Sources: - Kitchen ordering catalogue, read 8 October 2026 - Printed menu, version 2026-02-28 (section 'Wok on the Wild Side' and starters) --- # The Lotus Pie: a Mid-Autumn pie listed in October 2026 URL: https://donpieclub.sg/news/lotus-pie-mid-autumn-2026/ Published: 3 October 2026. Facts checked: 8 October 2026. **Quick answer:** The Lotus Pie is a seasonal Mid-Autumn pie on the kitchen's ordering site, filled with white lotus paste, pine nuts and six salted egg yolks. On 3 October 2026 it was listed at an early bird price of $58.80 against a regular $78.80. Check whether it is still orderable before you plan around it. On 3 October 2026 the kitchen's ordering site listed a seasonal Mid-Autumn item called the Lotus Pie. This post writes down what the listing said, because seasonal items come and go and a record of what was offered is useful later. ## What is in the Lotus Pie? Three fillings, as the listing describes them: white lotus paste, pine nuts and six salted egg yolks. White lotus paste is the traditional smooth filling of the classic Cantonese-style mooncake, pine nuts add crunch and salted egg yolks add the savoury, golden centre that people look for in a Mid-Autumn pastry. We do not hold a diameter or weight for the pie, so we are not going to say how many slices it makes. ## What did it cost? The listing showed two prices: $58.80 as an early bird price, and $78.80 as the usual price. The difference is $20. Early bird pricing is time-limited by definition, and the date it ended is not on the listing we read, so we cannot tell you whether the lower price is still available as you read this. The ordering site is the place to check. ## Is this the same thing as the Moon-Pie? No, but they are close relatives. The kitchen's 2024 Mid-Autumn offering was called the Moon-Pie. It was a single-serve pastry, sold singly or in a box of four, made with smooth yam paste (orh-nee) and pine nuts, with a single salted egg yolk inside a buttery, crumbly crust. It was made to order and freshly prepared in-house at 39 Tyrwhitt Road. The 2024 early bird prices were $18.80 for a single and $68.80 for a box of four, against regular prices of $20.80 and $78.80. The pastry chef's idea, as the kitchen's page puts it, was to pair the familiar yam paste with a crust people already know and make it the kitchen's own take on a Mid-Autumn pie. The 2026 Lotus Pie keeps the pie format and changes the filling to white lotus. | | Moon-Pie (2024) | Lotus Pie (2026 listing) | | --- | --- | --- | | Filling | Yam paste, pine nuts, one salted egg yolk | White lotus paste, pine nuts, six salted egg yolks | | Format | Single or a box of four | One pie | | Early bird | $18.80 single, $68.80 box of four | $58.80 | | Regular | $20.80 single, $78.80 box of four | $78.80 | ## Why does the kitchen use early bird prices? Twice now, in 2024 and 2026, the Mid-Autumn item has carried an early bird price and a higher regular price. We read that as a pattern, not a promise. It is a good reason to order early for this season, and a poor reason to assume a discount is guaranteed for any other item. The Don Pie Club has no member pricing and this is not an exception to that. ## How should you plan a Mid-Autumn order? - **Check availability first.** Seasonal listings end, as the [calendar of the year](/seasons/) shows. The page we read is a snapshot, not a guarantee. - **Order ahead.** Seasonal pies are advance orders, collected at the outlet you chose or delivered, and the ordering site does not allow amendments or cancellations after payment. - **Mind the allergens.** The kitchen states that its products contain nuts, eggs, dairy and gluten. This pie names pine nuts and salted egg yolks in the listing, so check with the kitchen if either matters to you. - **Remember the dietary position.** There is no pork and no lard in the kitchen, and the kitchen is not Halal-certified. **Update, 8 October 2026.** The Mid-Autumn Festival fell on 25 September 2026, so the season has passed by the date of this update, and we have not confirmed whether the Lotus Pie is still on sale. The listing we read on 3 October 2026 is the evidence this post rests on. The prices are as of October 2026, and the ordering site has the current position. The long view of the season, including the 2024 Moon-Pie, is on the [Mid-Autumn season page](/seasons/mid-autumn/). To hear about next year's window before it opens, join the [mailing list](/join/). Facts checked: 8 October 2026. **Quick answer:** Golden Salted Egg Crab is a seasonal dish launched with National Day copy: a whole mud crab wok-tossed in a dry-style salted egg yolk gravy with curry leaves and a hint of chilli padi. Prices are Medium $68.80, Large $88.80 and XL $108.80. Whole crab dishes need one day's notice. Golden Salted Egg Crab is the kitchen's National Day special. When we read the ordering site on 3 October 2026 it was listed as a limited-time special, alongside a Golden Salted Egg Prawn dish. ## What is the dish? The catalogue describes a fresh, meaty whole mud crab, wok-tossed in a dry-style salted egg yolk gravy, with curry leaves and a hint of chilli padi. Dry-style means the golden coating clings to the shell and the crab instead of pooling in a sauce. That is the difference between this and the five signature crab dishes, which all arrive in a broth, a gravy or a sauce. The photograph shows exactly that: a crab dusted in golden crumbs on a bed of curry leaves, with salted eggs beside it. The kitchen's menu says its mud crabs come from Sri Lanka and are delivered daily. That is the kitchen's claim, and we pass it on as the kitchen's claim. ## How is it priced? It has its own price list, a step above the signature dishes. | Size | Golden Salted Egg Crab | Signature crab dish (same size) | Difference | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Medium | $68.80 | $58.80 | $10 | | Large | $88.80 | $73.80 | $15 | | XL | $108.80 | $88.80 | $20 | The catalogue lists no Regular size for this dish, and no XL+ version. The signature column uses the five bee hoon and crab styles from [the crab page](/crab/). ## Why National Day? The launch copy tied the dish to National Day, which is 9 August. We have not been able to document the year, the dates of the window or the exact day the dish first went on sale. All we can say is that the dish carries National Day wording and that it was still listed as a limited-time special in October 2026. ## How do you order it? Whole crab dishes are advance orders: the catalogue asks for one day's notice before the serving date. Dine-in and self pick-up are at 39 Tyrwhitt Road, which is where the full crab range is prepared. The AMK Hub kiosk has a limited crab range of only the Crab Bee Hoon Soup and the Crab Laksa Bee Hoon, so it is not the place for this dish. Delivery fees depend on distance. Do not forget that you need a way to eat it: crab is a hands-on dish, and the kitchen sells a limited edition metal crab cracker, covered in [our post on the Hokkaido crab meat dishes](/news/hokkaido-crab-meat-dishes/). ## What should allergic or dietary diners know? - The dish contains shellfish and salted egg yolk, so egg and crustacean allergies are directly relevant. - The kitchen states that its products contain nuts, eggs, dairy and gluten. - There is no pork and no lard in the kitchen. The kitchen is not Halal-certified. ## What should you check before you go? Because it is a limited-time special, confirm three things: that it is still on the menu, that the size you want is available and that the lead time still applies. A short message to the kitchen's hotline on +65 6993 3333 settles it. The season page for [National Day](/seasons/national-day/) lists everything we can document about it. **Update, 8 October 2026.** The prices are from the ordering catalogue as read on 8 October 2026. The date and year of the original launch are not documented, which is why this post is dated to the day we read the listing and not to a launch day. Order line: Listed as a limited-time special on the ordering site as of October 2026. Order a day ahead at buy.chickenpie.sg (https://buy.chickenpie.sg) Sources: - Kitchen ordering catalogue, read 8 October 2026 (Golden Salted Egg Crab, seasonal) - Kitchen ordering site, limited-time specials, read 3 October 2026 --- # Find us at the four kiosks, as of October 2026 URL: https://donpieclub.sg/news/find-us-at-the-four-kiosks-october-2026/ Published: 3 October 2026. Facts checked: 8 October 2026. **Quick answer:** As of October 2026 the kitchen runs four takeaway kiosks, all owned and operated directly: AMK Hub, Wisma Atria, White Sands and Tiong Bahru Plaza. Hours are 10am to 9pm daily, except Wisma Atria at 10.30am to 9.30pm. Only AMK Hub sells crab, and only the soup and the laksa. The kitchen sells pies at four takeaway kiosks, besides the Tyrwhitt Road flagship. All four are, in the kitchen's words, owned and operated directly. This post is a snapshot of where they are, as of October 2026. It is dated as of the day we read the outlet list, not to any opening day, because we do not have opening dates for them. ## Where is each kiosk? | Kiosk | Address | Hours | | --- | --- | --- | | AMK Hub | 53 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3, #B2-44, Singapore 569933 | Every day, 10am to 9pm | | Wisma Atria | 435 Orchard Road, #B1-46, Singapore 238877 | Every day, 10.30am to 9.30pm | | White Sands | 1 Pasir Ris Central Street 3, #B1-K11, Singapore 518457 | Every day, 10am to 9pm | | Tiong Bahru Plaza | 302 Tiong Bahru Road, #03-115, Singapore 168732 | Every day, 10am to 9pm | The kitchen prints "or earlier if sold out" for all kiosks. Pies are baked in small batches, and the kitchen has a stated policy of no overnight pies, so a particular pie can sell out before closing time. ## How do you find each one? **AMK Hub.** Basement 2, next to the NTUC FairPrice Xtra entrance. The mall is linked to Ang Mo Kio MRT station by an underpass. It is the only kiosk with crab: a limited range of the Crab Bee Hoon Soup and the Crab Laksa Bee Hoon. **Wisma Atria.** Basement 1, near the restrooms and next to Fruce and Subway. The mall is linked to Orchard MRT station. **White Sands.** Basement 1, next to NTUC FairPrice. There is a sheltered link from Pasir Ris MRT station. **Tiong Bahru Plaza.** Level 3, in the DON DON DONKI checkout area. The ordering site tags this kiosk as new. It is the only one with shared self-service seating, in the DON DON DONKI area. We do not have its opening date. Wisma Atria, White Sands and AMK Hub have no official seating area, as the kitchen's contact page puts it. ## What do the kiosks sell? Takeaway pies and cakes. The ordering site marks which outlets have crab: the full range is at Tyrwhitt Road, the limited range is at AMK Hub, and the other three kiosks are pie kiosks with no crab. If you want a whole crab dish, plan for the flagship, as described on [our crab page](/crab/). ## How do you order for a kiosk? You can walk up, or you can order ahead on the ordering site and collect from the outlet you chose. The kitchen's rule is that you collect from the outlet you ordered at, so double check the outlet before you pay. Advance orders cannot be amended or cancelled once placed. Each kiosk has its own WhatsApp number, listed on the [outlets page](/outlets/) along with the main line, +65 6993 3333, and on our [contact page](/contact/). ## Which kiosk is nearest to you? AMK Hub serves Ang Mo Kio and the north-east, Wisma Atria is on Orchard Road, White Sands is at Pasir Ris in the east and Tiong Bahru Plaza is in Tiong Bahru. The longer comparison of which outlet to pick for your area is in the guide to [Don Pie outlets in Singapore](https://donpies.com/outlets/) and in a page on [the nearest outlet by region and MRT](https://donpieshop.com/don-pie-shop-near-me/). There is no Toa Payoh outlet today. The nearest kiosk to Toa Payoh is AMK Hub, three MRT stops north on the North-South Line. **Update, 8 October 2026.** We fetched the hours from the kitchen's contact page on 8 October 2026 and they match the ordering site. Hours change for public holidays and festive periods, so check the official site before a long trip. Order line: Order ahead for any kiosk at buy.chickenpie.sg and collect from the outlet you chose (https://buy.chickenpie.sg) Sources: - Kitchen contact page (chickenpie.sg/contact-us/), fetched 8 October 2026 - Kitchen ordering site outlet list (buy.chickenpie.sg), read 3 October 2026 --- # Four years of pie delivery: how it works now URL: https://donpieclub.sg/news/four-years-of-pie-delivery/ Published: 13 September 2026. Facts checked: 8 October 2026. **Quick answer:** The kitchen launched pie delivery on 13 September 2022. Today you order ahead on the ordering site, delivery is by third-party drivers, the fee depends on distance and festive surcharges can apply, and the delivery time is best-effort, not guaranteed. The kitchen's home page mentions free islandwide delivery above $200. The kitchen began delivering pies on 13 September 2022, according to its own blog post of that date. Four years on, the service looks different from the one the 2022 post described, and it is worth saying so out loud, because that old post is still findable and some of what it says is out of date. ## What did the 2022 post say? The launch post asked for orders at least 24 hours ahead and described a flat $15 islandwide fee. Neither of those is how the kitchen describes delivery now. If you have a screenshot of the 2022 terms, please do not rely on it. ## How does delivery work today? The terms below are the current general ones, written in plain words. They are as of October 2026, and the ordering site always has the live figure. - **You order ahead.** Delivery is an advance order placed on the ordering site, and payment is taken when the order is placed. The ordering site takes credit cards, and pickup orders can also be settled by PayNow or bank transfer through WhatsApp. - **Drivers are third parties.** The kitchen uses services such as Grab, Lalamove and GoGoX, among others. - **The fee depends on distance.** It rises with festive peaks and for places such as Sentosa, the CBD, malls and Changi Airport. - **The slot is best-effort.** The kitchen says it cannot specify an exact delivery time, and the slot is not guaranteed. - **There is a free-delivery threshold.** The kitchen's home page mentions free islandwide delivery above $200. Check that it applies to your order and the date you want. - **Same-day apps exist for some outlets.** The kitchen's menu page says instant delivery through GrabFood, Foodpanda and Deliveroo is available for Tyrwhitt Road, AMK Hub and Wisma Atria. ## What about lead time? The pages do not agree on one number. One product page says advance orders should be placed at least 90 minutes ahead, while the 2022 post said 24 hours. For anything seasonal, bulky or crab-based, plan well beyond either figure (the [seasons calendar](/seasons/) shows how short the windows are): whole crab dishes (see the [crab page](/crab/)) need a day's notice, the crab sharing sets need three hours, and festive items sell out. For a single pie on an ordinary day, check the ordering site for the earliest slot it will offer. ## What happens when the pie arrives? The kitchen says its pies are best eaten within four hours of purchase. If you need to keep one, it can be chilled for up to three days, and the shepherd's pie should not be kept beyond three days. To reheat in an air fryer, the kitchen suggests 150C for five minutes, then 200C for five minutes. If you want a deeper treatment of reheating methods, a guide on [how to reheat chicken pie](https://donchickenpie.com/how-to-reheat-chicken-pie/) compares the oven, air fryer and microwave. The kitchen's refund policy, summarised on our [contact page](/contact/), asks you to get in touch within two hours of receiving an order, with photos, and offers a refund or exchange only for preparation or quality faults. ## Should you deliver or collect? It depends on the occasion. Collection costs nothing extra and lets you choose the minute, but you collect from the outlet you ordered at. Delivery brings the pies to you, with a fee and a window. If you are weighing the two for a gathering, a [comparison of pickup and delivery](https://donpieshop.com/pickup-vs-delivery/) lays out the trade-offs, and the [pie delivery guide](https://donpieshop.com/pie-delivery-singapore/) covers fees and lead times across sellers. **Update, 8 October 2026.** We checked the ordering site banner and FAQ on 3 October 2026 and the home page on 8 October 2026. Delivery terms have changed before and will change again, which is the reason this post does not quote a single fee. The authoritative figure is whatever the ordering site shows at checkout. Facts checked: 8 October 2026. **Quick answer:** Chicken Pie Kitchen & Don Signature Crab uses no pork and no lard, and it is not Halal-certified by MUIS. The kitchen does not claim that any of its products are Halal. Its statement was last reviewed on 25 August 2026. Read the full statement on chickenpie.sg before you order. The kitchen reviewed its statement on halal food on 25 August 2026. The answer has not changed, and we would rather repeat it plainly than leave anyone to infer it: no pork, no lard, not Halal-certified. ## What does the statement say? The three parts are short. 1. There is no pork and no lard in the kitchen. 2. The kitchen is not Halal-certified by MUIS, the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore. 3. The kitchen does not claim that any of its products are Halal. Those three statements are the whole position, and every other sentence on this page is context. We do not use softer labels, we do not suggest that any dish is suitable by default, and we do not rely on one supplier's status to say anything about the whole kitchen. ## Why does the kitchen not seek certification? The kitchen's own statement gives its reasons. The flagship restaurant at 39 Tyrwhitt Road admits pet dogs and serves alcohol. Those are choices about how the dining room runs, and the kitchen explains in its statement that they are why it does not claim to be Halal. We are not going to paraphrase the full argument here, because the kitchen's statement is the authoritative text and it carries the review date. ## What does that mean for a Muslim diner deciding where to eat? It means the decision is yours, and it should be made with the full statement in front of you. Some diners avoid any kitchen that is not certified. Others are comfortable with a no-pork, no-lard kitchen that is open about what it is. Either choice is reasonable. The thing we owe you is a clear answer, and the clear answer is that the kitchen is not Halal-certified. ## What else is worth knowing about ingredients and alcohol? The kitchen's dietary FAQ says that its products contain nuts, eggs, dairy and gluten. It says that pastries by default contain no alcohol. It says that the crab soup is cooked with Chinese cooking wine and herbs, including dang gui (angelica root). The flagship serves alcohol as part of its drinks menu. If any of these matter to you, ask the outlet about the specific dish before you order, because we cannot answer for a recipe on the day. The kitchen's pages word the question of ingredient suppliers in more than one way, so we do not summarise it here. The statement on chickenpie.sg is the place to read it. ## Where does this apply? To all five outlets: the Tyrwhitt Road flagship and the four kiosks at AMK Hub, Wisma Atria, White Sands and Tiong Bahru Plaza. The [outlets page](/outlets/) lists each of them. The same statement applies to the crab dishes described on [our crab page](/crab/) and to every seasonal item in [the calendar of the year](/seasons/). ## Where can you read more? The question comes up often enough that several sites carry a version of it. [donpies.com's page on whether Don Pie is halal](https://donpies.com/is-don-pie-halal/) answers it in a question-and-answer form, and [Pie Singapore's guide to halal pies](https://piesingapore.com/halal-pies-singapore/) compares sellers across the city, if you are choosing between several. Our own [FAQ](/faq/) has a shorter version. **Update, 8 October 2026.** Nothing has changed since the review. We checked the kitchen's statement on 3 October 2026 and the wording matches what is written above. If it changes, we will date a new post and update this one. Order line: Read the kitchen's own statement, then order at buy.chickenpie.sg (https://buy.chickenpie.sg) Sources: - Kitchen statement 'Are your pies halal?' on chickenpie.sg, last reviewed 25 August 2026 - Allergen and dietary FAQ on buy.chickenpie.sg, read 3 October 2026 --- # The February 2026 printed menu: pies, cakes and crab prices URL: https://donpieclub.sg/news/the-february-2026-menu/ Published: 28 February 2026. Facts checked: 8 October 2026. **Quick answer:** The kitchen's printed menu is dated 28 February 2026. A personal chicken pie is $6.80 and a whole pie is $33.80 for the Original, Black Pepper and Shepherd's pies. Kueh lapis starts at $4.80 a slice. Whole crab dishes start at $39.80. Dine-in adds service charge and tax, and online prices may differ. The printed menu the kitchen hands out carries a version date of 28 February 2026. This post sets out the prices on it, in one place, as of October 2026. For live prices, always check the ordering site, because the printed menu and the online menu can differ. ## What do the pies cost? The menu opens with the line "Singapore's original Chicken Pie, since 1983", which is the kitchen's own tagline and is used here as the kitchen's wording. Pies come in a personal size that feeds one and a whole size that feeds four to six. | Pie | Personal | Whole | | --- | --- | --- | | Original Chicken Pie | $6.80 | $33.80 | | Black Pepper Chicken Pie | $6.80 | $33.80 | | Chicken Shepherd's Pie | $6.80 | $33.80 | | Curry Pie | $6.80 | $38.80 | | Beef Pie (premium New Zealand beef) | $13.80 | $58.80 | | Apple Pie | $8.80 | $43.80 | The Chicken Pot Pie Combo is $18.80 and is baked to order with a salad, with about 15 minutes of preparation. The menu also lists optional add-ons under the pies, though the print layout does not make clear which pie each add-on belongs to, so ask at the counter. ## Which pie is which? The Original is the recipe the kitchen dates to 1983. The Black Pepper uses the same pastry with a peppery kick. The Shepherd's Pie (the range has [its own shepherd's pie site](https://shepherdpie.sg/)) is the black pepper filling under baked mashed potato, pictured on the menu as a tray. The Curry Pie has curry spices, chicken chunks and potato. For a closer look at each pie, the [Don Pie menu and prices for 2026](https://donpies.com/menu/) covers every pie and size. ## What do the cakes cost? | Cake | Prices | | --- | --- | | Kueh Lapis | Slice $4.80, quarter $18.80, half $30.80, whole $58.80 | | Prune Lapis | Quarter $20.80, half $33.80, whole $63.80 | | Cheesecake | Slice $5.30, whole $48.80 | | Rich Cake (fruit and nut) | Slice $5.30, whole $48.80 | ## What does a crab dish cost? The crab section of the menu groups the five signature styles as "The OG Crab", priced by the size of the crab: Regular (350 to 400g) $39.80, Medium (500 to 550g) $58.80, Large (600 to 650g) $73.80 and XL (700 to 800g) $88.80. Cheese Crab is offered in Medium and above only. The ordering catalogue also lists an XL+ size at $128.80. Our [crab page](/crab/) describes the six signature dishes. ## Have the prices moved? For the headline pie, yes, once. A December 2022 review by SethLui reported a personal pie at $6.30 and a whole pie at $28.80, and an April 2023 review by ieatishootipost reported $6.80 and $33.80. The February 2026 menu shows the same $6.80 and $33.80 as April 2023, so the personal and whole prices we hold have not moved since then. We have not checked every month in between. A longer record sits on [donpies.com's price history page](https://donpies.com/toa-payoh/don-pie-price-history/), and [how pie prices compare across Singapore](https://piesingapore.com/pie-prices-singapore/) is covered by Pie Singapore. ## What is not on the printed menu? Delivery fees, outlet-specific stock and the seasonal items. Seasonal sets, such as the ones in our [calendar of the year](/seasons/) and the ones covered in [the Chinese New Year post](/news/chinese-new-year-2026-fa-cai-set-and-yu-sheng/), are listed on the ordering site for their window and are not part of the printed menu. The menu itself states that dine-in is subject to service charge and prevailing tax. **Update, 8 October 2026.** The prices above are those printed on the 28 February 2026 menu and are as of October 2026, which is when we last compared them. Check the official site before you travel, since prices change and the ordering site may show different figures from the printed menu. Order line: Live items and prices are on the ordering site, buy.chickenpie.sg (https://buy.chickenpie.sg) Sources: - Printed menu PDF, version 2026-02-28, published on chickenpie.sg - Reviews by SethLui (December 2022) and ieatishootipost (April 2023) for the earlier price points --- # Chinese New Year 2026: the Fa Cai set and the Yu Sheng URL: https://donpieclub.sg/news/chinese-new-year-2026-fa-cai-set-and-yu-sheng/ Published: 14 January 2026. Facts checked: 8 October 2026. **Quick answer:** For Chinese New Year 2026, which fell on 17 February, the kitchen offered the Fa Cai set of two Singapore Pies at $26.80, served with achar and chilli sauce, and the Galloping Prosperity Yu Sheng at $48.80, made with crab stick. Both were limited seasonal items. Chinese New Year 2026 fell on Tuesday 17 February, and the kitchen put two seasonal items on the table for it: a pair of pies with auspicious stamps, and a yu sheng for the toss. ## What was the Fa Cai set? The Fa Cai set was two Singapore Pies. The Singapore Pie is a soya sauce chicken and rice pie, filled with tender soya sauce chicken, premium Akita rice and braised egg, seasoned with ginger, sesame oil and garlic. For the new year the pies were stamped with the characters Cai (財) and Fa (發), which together read Fa Cai (發財), the greeting for prosperity. The set came with local achar and the kitchen's signature chilli sauce. The listed price was $26.80, shown against a struck-through $28.80. The page carried a note that sets were limited because the pies are handmade, which is the usual reason a seasonal pie sells out. The pie and its background, including how it relates to a Hainanese chicken rice tradition, are told on the Singapore Pie site; its [page on the pie itself](https://www.singaporepies.com/the-pie/) is the place to read it. ## What was the Galloping Prosperity Yu Sheng? A yu sheng, the colourful shredded salad that is tossed high with chopsticks at a Chinese New Year table, built here with crab stick. It was $48.80 in the ordering catalogue. 2026 was the Year of the Horse, which fits the name. We do not hold a size or serving count for it, and we do not hold the date it first went on sale, so this page gives the price and the ingredients named in the catalogue and stops there. ## How are the two items different? | | Fa Cai set | Galloping Prosperity Yu Sheng | | --- | --- | --- | | What it is | Two Singapore Pies | A yu sheng with crab stick | | Listed price | $26.80 (from $28.80) | $48.80 | | Comes with | Local achar and chilli sauce | See the catalogue | | Why limited | Handmade production time | Seasonal item | ## Why do pies carry Fa and Cai? Fa (發) means to prosper and Cai (財) means wealth. Said together, Fa Cai is a standard Chinese New Year wish. Stamping the two characters on a pie lets one pie say half the greeting and a pair say all of it, which is how a set of two makes sense as a gift. The copy that went with the set put the idea in the kitchen's own words: if you want Fa, Cai, or Fa Cai, get both. ## What should you check before ordering a seasonal pie set? - **Pre-order date.** Seasonal sets are ordered ahead. We have no record of when pre-orders usually open, so watch the list and the ordering site. - **Collection outlet.** Advance orders are collected from the outlet you order at. Check which outlet you chose. - **Dietary notes.** The kitchen states that its products contain nuts, eggs, dairy and gluten. No pork and no lard is used in the kitchen, and the kitchen is not Halal-certified. - **Cancellation.** The ordering site does not allow amendments or cancellations after an order is placed. **Update, 8 October 2026.** Chinese New Year 2026 has passed, so both items were a limited run. The Singapore Pie site still carried the Fa Cai set when it was last revised in January, and the Yu Sheng is still in the ordering catalogue as of this date. Whether either returns is something we will announce to the list first. The current prices and menus are on the ordering site. The seasonal pattern around the new year, as far as we can document it, is gathered on the [Chinese New Year season page](/seasons/chinese-new-year/), and the whole calendar is on [a year at the kitchen](/seasons/). If you would like the next pre-order notice sent to you, use the [Join page](/join/). Order line: The 2026 sets were a limited run. Facts checked: 8 October 2026. **Quick answer:** For Mother's Day weekend, 9 to 11 May 2025, Chicken Pie Kitchen & Don Signature Crab offered steamed crab on glutinous rice in a pink cast-iron pot for $288, plus 5 course and 9 course Mother's Day menus. The special menu was served exclusively at 39 Tyrwhitt Road. Mother's Day 2025 fell on Sunday 11 May, and the kitchen built a weekend around it. From Friday 9 May to Sunday 11 May 2025, the dining room at 39 Tyrwhitt Road served a special Mother's Day menu, led by a dish in a pink cast-iron pot. ## What was in the pink pot? Steamed crab on glutinous rice, served in the pot at the table. The catalogue price was $288. The photograph the kitchen used shows a whole crab with its claws resting on the rim of a soft pink pot, steam rising, with a printed caption that reads "Mother's Day Special Menu, Exclusively at 39 Tyrwhitt Road". We hold no portion size for the pot, so we are not going to say how many people it feeds. If a similar pot appears again, ask the kitchen before you order. The pot was a one-weekend presentation, not a permanent menu item. For the crab dishes the kitchen serves all year, see [our crab page](/crab/). ## What were the 5 course and 9 course menus? The kitchen also ran a 5 course menu and a 9 course menu for the weekend. We have the names of those two menus and the dates they ran, and we do not have a record of the dishes or the prices. We have left them out rather than guess. If you were at the table, you know more than this page does. ## How did you book Mother's Day weekend? Dine-in tables at the flagship are booked through the kitchen's reservation page. The kitchen's published reservation rules say that Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays need a small deposit. All three days of that weekend fall into that group, so anyone planning a visit should have expected a deposit. That is a general rule from the kitchen, not a statement about a specific Mother's Day arrangement. ## Why plan ahead for a crab occasion? Mother's Day is a Sunday, and the window ran across the whole weekend. Whole crab dishes ordered through the ordering site need a day's notice, which is a good reason to treat any crab-led occasion as something to plan and not a walk-in whim. ## What does this tell you about how the kitchen runs seasons? Three habits are visible in this one example, and they recur across the year: - The seasonal item has a short, stated window. Here it was three days. - It sits at the flagship first. The special menu was marked as exclusive to 39 Tyrwhitt Road. - It leans on crab. The 2025 set pieces were crab dishes, which fits a kitchen whose second name is Don Signature Crab. You can see the same pattern laid out across the calendar on [the Mother's Day season page](/seasons/mothers-day/) and in [a year at the kitchen](/seasons/). ## Quick facts | Item | Detail | | --- | --- | | Dates | Friday 9 to Sunday 11 May 2025 | | Headline dish | Steamed crab on glutinous rice in a pink cast-iron pot | | Price | $288 | | Menus | A 5 course menu and a 9 course menu | | Where | 39 Tyrwhitt Road, exclusively | **Update, 8 October 2026.** This was a limited run and it has ended. Facts checked: 8 October 2026. **Quick answer:** In April 2025 the Don Pie Club website opened as a soft launch: online orders only, limited sets of bakes, first come, first served. It was a place to pre-order pies and cakes, not a membership scheme. Orders are taken on the kitchen's ordering site, and the club itself is a mailing list. The Don Pie Club opened its doors online in April 2025. The banner on the shop site read "Soft Launch: April 2025. Online orders only. Limited sets of bakes. First come, first served." That is the whole of the announcement, and we have kept the words close to how they were written, because a soft launch is a modest thing and we would rather describe it plainly than dress it up. ## What did the soft launch actually offer? A way to pre-order. The site invited you to "Pre-Order Pies Now", and the order button led to the kitchen's ordering site, where pies are ordered ahead for pickup or delivery. The shop listed the kinds of things the kitchen bakes: chicken pies in two sizes, a shepherd's pie, small canapé pies, puffs, kueh lapis and cheesecakes. It did not list outlets, opening hours or a delivery policy, because those live on the kitchen's own pages. The copy on the site was short and cheerful. It talked about going back to basics, about pies packed with chicken chunks and spices, about gathering friends for a pie party and about gifting pies and cakes on a birthday. It also said that some people call the brand "Don" and others call it "Don Pie", and that either way it is still Your Personal Pie Club. ## Where does the name come from? The first Don Pie shop was "DON: Your Personal Pie Club", opened by Chef Don Lim at Far East Square around 2000 to 2001. Sources and the kitchen's own pages differ on whether the year is 2000 or 2001, so we give the range rather than choosing. The longer account of that shop and the years after it belongs to [originaldon.com's story of the original Don](https://originaldon.com/story/), and we do not repeat it here. Chef Don Lim founded Don Pie and co-founded Chicken Pie Kitchen & Don Signature Crab, where the pies are baked today under the DonChef name. The club site is one of the ways the same kitchen takes pie orders. This site, donpieclub.sg, is where we write down what is new. ## Was it a membership? No, and we want to be exact about this. The soft launch had no points, no tiers, no member pricing and no loyalty card. A reader who landed on the shop in April 2025 saw an order button and a banner. Today the Don Pie Club means one thing: the mailing list described on the [Join page](/join/). It gets you news first, a heads-up before seasonal pre-order windows open, and invitations to events. It does not get you a price cut, and we will not hint that it might. ## What does "first come, first served" mean for you? It meant what it says. Bakes were limited, so the earliest orders were the ones filled. The practical lesson, which still holds for seasonal items, is to order early. The kitchen's ordering site asks for payment at the time of ordering for advance orders, and it does not allow amendments or cancellations once an order is placed, so check the date, the outlet and the quantity before you pay. ## Quick facts | Item | Detail | | --- | --- | | Launch stage | Soft launch, April 2025 | | Ordering | Online only | | Stock | Limited sets of bakes | | Rule | First come, first served | | What the club is today | A mailing list, see the Join page | **Update, 8 October 2026.** When we checked the Don Pie Club shop pages on 3 October 2026, every product on them was marked as sold out, and the prices shown there did not match the kitchen's current printed menu. Treat that shop as a window onto the soft launch and not as the place to check what is available. For live items and prices, use the kitchen's ordering site and the [February 2026 menu post](/news/the-february-2026-menu/) for the printed prices we work from. If you want the next announcement before the crowd, the quickest route is the [Join page](/join/). It carries dated news, seasonal pages and events, written in the kitchen's own voice. It is not a membership programme. Every post is dated, sourced and marked as on sale now or a limited run. donpieclub.sg is published by the team at Chicken Pie Kitchen & Don Signature Crab, 39 Tyrwhitt Road, Singapore. ## Who are we? We are the kitchen. Chicken Pie Kitchen & Don Signature Crab is run by Chicken Pie Pte. Ltd. from a flagship restaurant at 39 Tyrwhitt Road in Jalan Besar and four takeaway kiosks, at AMK Hub, Wisma Atria, White Sands and Tiong Bahru Plaza. Chef Don Lim founded Don Pie and co-founded the kitchen, where the pies are baked today under the DonChef name. DonChef is the name Chicken Pie Kitchen & Don Signature Crab bakes under today. Every pie that leaves the kitchen is a DonChef pie, made to the original recipe that Don Pie founder and kitchen co-founder Chef Don Lim created in 1983. Chef Don Lim still appears at the kitchen's events. ## What is this site for? Three things, and only three. 1. **News.** Dated posts about what is new at the kitchen. The [news page](/news/) lists all twelve, newest first. 2. **Seasons.** One page for each recurring season we can document, plus [a year at the kitchen](/seasons/). 3. **The list.** The Don Pie Club is a mailing list. It is not a membership programme. It sends news first, a heads-up before seasonal pre-order windows open and invitations to events. The crab side of the kitchen has a short page of its own, [the crab page](/crab/), and the five locations are on the [outlets page](/outlets/). ## What is it not for? It is not the place to learn the brand's story, the recipe's heritage, how to buy or the science of reheating. Those are covered by sister pages that do them better, and we link to them where a post needs them: the story of the recipe is at [originaldon.com](https://originaldon.com/story/who-is-the-original-don/), and the full outlet guide and menu are at [donpies.com](https://donpies.com/). We do not repeat them. ## How do we write the news? By a short set of rules. - **Every post is dated.** Where we know the day, we use it. Where we know only the month, we use the first of the month. Where we cannot document a date, the post is dated to the day we read the source and says so on the page. - **Every post is sourced.** The sources are listed at the foot of the post. - **Every post says whether you can still order the item.** An "order" line says either what is listed now or that the item was a limited run. - **Every price is as of a date.** Prices and hours are shown as of October 2026, with a prompt to check the official site. - **No invented events, quotes or numbers.** There are no customer testimonials, no star ratings and no counts of reviews on this site. - **No promises about the club.** There are no points, tiers, discounts or member pricing. ## What do we say about halal food? Always the same three things: no pork, no lard, and not Halal-certified. The kitchen's own statement is on chickenpie.sg, and our [post on the August 2026 review](/news/our-halal-statement-reviewed-august-2026/) explains it. ## How do I send a correction? Write to hello@chickenpie.sg. If a fact on this site is wrong, tell us what it is and where you saw it, and we will check it against the kitchen's records, correct it and mark the post as updated. For the full list of contact routes, see the [contact page](/contact/). ## How is the site built? As a static site, with no tracking scripts, no cookie banner and no third-party embeds. Every page is readable without JavaScript. The site publishes a sitemap, an RSS feed of the news and an llms.txt file for AI tools. Photographs of food are the kitchen's own. Pictures labelled as illustrations are generated placeholders, not photographs of our kitchen, and will be replaced. Last updated: October 2026. --- # Events: how we announce them, and what we will not invent URL: https://donpieclub.sg/events/ **Quick answer:** Chef Don Lim still appears at the kitchen's events. Dates are announced to the mailing list first, then written up in the news. This page lists no upcoming or past events because we hold no evidenced dates for any, and we will not invent them. For bulk or event orders, write to marketing@chickenpie.sg. Chef Don Lim still appears at the kitchen's events. That sentence is the whole of what we can promise about him and events, and it is true as of October 2026. This page explains what follows from it, and what does not. ## Is there a list of events? No. We do not hold evidenced dates for any upcoming event, and we do not hold evidenced dates for any past event that we would be willing to publish. A page that listed made-up dates would be worse than a page that listed none, so there is no list here. What we do have are dated windows in which the kitchen ran something special at the flagship, such as the Mother's Day weekend of 9 to 11 May 2025. Those are seasonal offers, not events with guests, and they are written up in the [news](/news/) and on the [seasons pages](/seasons/). ## How are events announced? In this order: 1. **The mailing list first.** Anyone on the [list](/join/) hears about an event before it is public. That is one of the three things the list is for. 2. **This site's news.** Once the list has been told, the event is written up with the date, the place and whether you need to book. 3. **The kitchen's own pages and hotline.** Those are where to check the details of an event, and the hotline answers questions. We do not promise a fixed delay between the three steps, because it depends on the event. ## What will an announcement say? Every event post will carry the same plain details, so that you can judge it in a glance: - the date and the hours; - the outlet or the venue; - whether Chef Don Lim is expected to appear, said as a plain fact when we know it and left out when we do not; - whether you need to book, and whether a deposit applies (the flagship asks for a small deposit on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays); - what will be on sale and whether it needs to be pre-ordered; - the dietary position, which for every event is no pork, no lard and not Halal-certified. We will not post an event as confirmed until it is. ## Can Chef Don Lim come to my event? You can ask. Write to marketing@chickenpie.sg with the date, the place, the kind of event and the number of guests. We cannot promise that he will attend, and we will not publish an appearance until it is certain. The same address takes charity and school requests: the kitchen asks for the item, the size, the quantity and the date. ## How do I plan a bulk or event order? The kitchen takes bulk orders from 100 pieces upward through marketing@chickenpie.sg, and custom pies are possible. For smaller gatherings, an ordinary advance order on the ordering site works, with the usual rules: payment at ordering, collection from the outlet you chose, and no amendments or cancellations after payment. For rough numbers, a [party pie calculator](https://donpieshop.com/how-many-pies-per-person/) on donpieshop.com estimates how many pies a group needs, and its [order planner](https://donpieshop.com/pie-order-planner/) suggests when to order. Treat both as general guides and confirm the quantity and the date with the kitchen. ## What about reservations? Dine-in tables at the flagship are booked through the kitchen's reservation page. The kitchen's published rules say that Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays need a small deposit, and that a VIP room is available for larger groups. We do not state how many a table or the room holds, so ask when you book. ## Why not post "coming soon" items? Because "coming soon" is where invented detail creeps in. If a date is not sure, it does not go on this page. When it is sure, the list hears first and then this site writes it up, dated, in the news. To be on the list, use the [Join page](/join/). --- # A year at the kitchen: the seasons we can document URL: https://donpieclub.sg/seasons/ **Quick answer:** The kitchen's documented seasons are Chinese New Year (January to February), Mother's Day (May), National Day (August) and Mid-Autumn (September to October). Each brings limited items, usually crab or festive pies. We have no documented Christmas menu, so this page does not list one. A season at Chicken Pie Kitchen & Don Signature Crab is a short window in which one or two items appear that are not on the printed menu all year. They are usually advance orders, they are usually limited, and they usually leave when the window closes. This page puts the four we can document on one calendar. ## What do the seasons look like across a year? | When | Season | What we can document | | --- | --- | --- | | January to February | [Chinese New Year](/seasons/chinese-new-year/) | The Fa Cai set of two Singapore Pies, $26.80, and the Galloping Prosperity Yu Sheng, $48.80, in 2026 | | May | [Mother's Day](/seasons/mothers-day/) | A pink cast-iron pot of steamed crab on glutinous rice, $288, and 5 and 9 course menus on 9 to 11 May 2025; the Signature Experience with an XL+ crab in 2026 | | August | [National Day](/seasons/national-day/) | Golden Salted Egg Crab, Medium $68.80, Large $88.80, XL $108.80 | | September to October | [Mid-Autumn](/seasons/mid-autumn/) | The 2024 Moon-Pie and the 2026 Lotus Pie, both with early bird pricing | The months are the months of the festivals, not the months in which the kitchen opened orders. We have dates for only some of the windows, and the season pages say which. ## What stays the same between seasons? The printed menu. Pies are $6.80 for a personal size and $33.80 for a whole one on the three core chicken pies, and the five signature crab styles start at $39.80, all as of October 2026. Our [post on the February 2026 menu](/news/the-february-2026-menu/) has the details. The seasons sit on top of that menu and do not replace it. ## What do the seasons have in common? Three habits show up again and again. 1. **They are crab-led, or pie-led.** Mother's Day in 2025 and 2026 and National Day are led by crab. Chinese New Year and Mid-Autumn are led by pies and pastry, with one yu sheng made with crab stick. 2. **They are limited.** Sets are described as limited, as a limited-time special or as seasonal, and some carry early bird prices. 3. **They sit at the flagship first.** The Mother's Day 2025 menu was marked as exclusive to 39 Tyrwhitt Road, and the full crab range is prepared there. ## When do pre-orders usually open? We do not know, and we will not guess. The catalogue and the pages we read give the festival and, for some items, a window of dates, but not the day pre-orders opened. What we can say is that Mid-Autumn items in 2024 and 2026 both carried an early bird price, which means the first part of a window can be cheaper. The list hears about windows first, which is the main reason to [join it](/join/). ## What about Christmas and the year end? We have no documented Christmas or year-end menu, so we do not list one. One catalogue card for The Flounder's Crabby Choice reads "Seasonal Menu, Exclusively at 39 Tyrwhitt Road" and shows a snowflake, but it names no occasion, so we do not claim one for it. If a year-end menu appears, it will be dated and written up here the day we can source it. ## How should you plan around the seasons? - **Treat the date of the festival as the deadline, not the starting gun.** Seasonal items are advance orders, and many are limited. - **Plan crab for a day ahead.** Whole crab dishes need one day's notice, and the sharing sets need three hours. - **Check the outlet.** The full crab range is at Tyrwhitt Road, and AMK Hub carries a limited range of only the soup and the laksa. See the [outlets page](/outlets/). - **Read the allergen line.** The kitchen says its products contain nuts, eggs, dairy and gluten, and crab dishes contain shellfish. - **Remember the dietary position.** No pork, no lard, not Halal-certified. For ordering, the kitchen's own site is [buy.chickenpie.sg](https://buy.chickenpie.sg), where seasonal items are listed for their window. For larger orders, such as festive gifts for an office, the kitchen takes bulk orders from 100 pieces upward through marketing@chickenpie.sg, and [how to order bulk pies for an office](https://donpieshop.com/bulk-corporate-pie-orders/) is explained, with minimums and lead times, on donpieshop.com. --- # Chinese New Year at the kitchen: the Fa Cai set and Yu Sheng URL: https://donpieclub.sg/seasons/chinese-new-year/ **Quick answer:** For Chinese New Year 2026 (17 February) the kitchen offered the Fa Cai set, two Singapore Pies stamped with the characters for prosperity, at $26.80, and the Galloping Prosperity Yu Sheng at $48.80. Both were limited. We have one documented year, so we cannot say what usually appears or when orders open. Chinese New Year is the season in which the kitchen's pies carry a message. In 2026 the new year fell on Tuesday 17 February, and the kitchen's offers for it were built around two ideas: the pie as a gift, and the shared toss of a yu sheng. ## What appears at Chinese New Year? As of October 2026 we can document two items, both from 2026. We hold nothing for earlier years, so "usually" would be a stretch. Where we say what the kitchen offered, it is what the evidence shows for 2026. | Item | Price | What it is | | --- | --- | --- | | Fa Cai set | $26.80 (listed against $28.80) | Two Singapore Pies, with local achar and the kitchen's signature chilli sauce | | Galloping Prosperity Yu Sheng | $48.80 | A yu sheng made with crab stick | Prices are as of October 2026, from the sources listed below, and both items were a limited run. ## What is a Singapore Pie? A pie filled with tender soya sauce chicken, premium Akita rice and braised egg, seasoned with ginger, sesame oil and garlic. It is an adaptation of a Hainanese chicken rice idea into a pie, and its heritage is told by the Singapore Pie site rather than here: its [page on the pie](https://www.singaporepies.com/the-pie/) explains it. For the new year the pies were stamped with Cai (財) and Fa (發), which together read as the greeting Fa Cai (發財), a wish for prosperity. Because the pies are handmade, the kitchen limited the number of sets. That is the reason to order early, and it is a better reason than any promise about stock. ## What is a yu sheng? A salad of shredded vegetables and other ingredients, tossed high with chopsticks by everyone at the table while saying wishes for the year. The kitchen's version, the Galloping Prosperity Yu Sheng, is made with crab stick and priced at $48.80. We hold no serving size, so ask when you order. 2026 was the Year of the Horse, which fits the word galloping. ## When do Chinese New Year pre-orders open? We do not have an evidenced date, and we are not going to estimate one. What we know is that these are advance items and that the first window we documented ended with the festival. The reliable way to learn the next one is the [mailing list](/join/), where seasonal pre-order windows are announced first. ## How should you plan a Chinese New Year order? - **Decide what it is for.** A pair of pies suits a household or a gift. A yu sheng suits a table that wants to toss. - **Order for the outlet you will collect from.** Advance orders are collected from the outlet you choose, and the ordering site does not allow amendments or cancellations once an order is paid. - **Allow for the festive peak in delivery.** The kitchen applies festive surcharges to delivery, and fees depend on distance. - **Think about numbers.** For office gifting, the kitchen takes bulk orders from 100 pieces upward through marketing@chickenpie.sg. [donpieshop.com's guide to bulk and corporate pie orders](https://donpieshop.com/bulk-corporate-pie-orders/) covers minimums and lead times in general. - **Check dietary needs.** The kitchen states that its products contain nuts, eggs, dairy and gluten, with no pork and no lard. It is not Halal-certified. For the other festivals, see [Mother's Day](/seasons/mothers-day/) and [Mid-Autumn](/seasons/mid-autumn/). For what is on offer today, the kitchen's [ordering site](https://buy.chickenpie.sg) lists current items. ## How does this compare with the other seasons? Chinese New Year and Mid-Autumn are the seasons led by pies and pastry. Mother's Day and National Day are led by crab. The calendar page, [a year at the kitchen](/seasons/), places them side by side. --- # Mid-Autumn at the kitchen: the Moon-Pie and the Lotus Pie URL: https://donpieclub.sg/seasons/mid-autumn/ **Quick answer:** At Mid-Autumn the kitchen has sold a seasonal pie-style pastry with an early bird price. The 2024 Moon-Pie had yam paste, pine nuts and a salted egg yolk, from $18.80. The 2026 Lotus Pie has white lotus paste, pine nuts and six salted egg yolks, listed at $58.80 early bird and $78.80 regular. Mid-Autumn is the season in which the kitchen's pastry takes a sweet turn. In place of chicken and potato, the seasonal items are filled with paste and egg yolk, in the style of a mooncake, in a crust people already know. ## What appears at Mid-Autumn? Two years of evidence, with a different item each year. | | 2024: Moon-Pie | 2026: Lotus Pie | | --- | --- | --- | | Filling | Smooth yam paste (orh-nee), pine nuts, one salted egg yolk | White lotus paste, pine nuts, six salted egg yolks | | Format | A single, or a box of four | One pie | | Early bird | $18.80 single, $68.80 box of four | $58.80 | | Regular | $20.80 single, $78.80 box of four | $78.80 | | Made | To order, in-house at 39 Tyrwhitt Road | Listed on the ordering site as of 3 October 2026 | Prices are as of the times shown above and are given for the record, not as an offer. The Mid-Autumn Festival fell on 25 September 2026, so the 2026 window is closing or closed at the date of this update. ## What is the pastry idea? The kitchen's page about the 2024 Moon-Pie gives the pastry chef's idea in a sentence: take the old yam paste, pair it with a crust that is already familiar, and make it the kitchen's own take on a Mid-Autumn pie. The Moon-Pie was described as creamier than a traditional mooncake, with crunch from the pine nuts and a buttery, crumbly crust. The 2026 Lotus Pie keeps the idea and changes the paste to white lotus. ## When do Mid-Autumn pre-orders open? We do not have a date, and we will not estimate one. What the two years share is an early bird price, which means the start of the window is the cheaper part of it. That is a pattern, not a promise, and it does not extend to any other season. The Don Pie Club has no member pricing. ## How should you plan? - **Order early.** Both years had early bird pricing, and seasonal items are limited. - **Choose the format.** The 2024 Moon-Pie came as a single or a box of four, so it suited gifting. The 2026 Lotus Pie is a single large pie, so it suits sharing. - **Mind the nuts and eggs.** Both items contain pine nuts and salted egg yolk. The kitchen states that its products contain nuts, eggs, dairy and gluten. - **Collect from the outlet you chose.** The ordering site has no amendments or cancellations after payment. - **Remember the dietary position.** No pork, no lard, not Halal-certified. The kitchen's [ordering site](https://buy.chickenpie.sg) shows what is listed now. For the full detail of the 2026 listing, read the post below. The sweet side of the kitchen also includes kueh lapis and cheesecake, priced in [our February 2026 menu post](/news/the-february-2026-menu/). ## Where does this sit in the year? Mid-Autumn closes the documented calendar. After it, our records stop: we have no year-end item. The [calendar page](/seasons/) shows all four seasons together, and the [list](/join/) is the way to hear about whatever comes next. --- # Mother's Day at the kitchen: pink pots and crab URL: https://donpieclub.sg/seasons/mothers-day/ **Quick answer:** The kitchen has marked Mother's Day with crab two years running. In 2025, 9 to 11 May, it served steamed crab on glutinous rice in a pink pot for $288 plus 5 and 9 course menus. In 2026 it offered a Signature Experience with an XL+ crab in Chilli or Ginger and Scallion style. Both have ended. Mother's Day falls on the second Sunday of May: Sunday 11 May in 2025 and Sunday 10 May in 2026. The kitchen's two Mother's Day offers so far have both been built around crab and a pink cast-iron pot. ## What was offered, year by year? | Year | Window | Centrepiece | Price | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | 2025 | Friday 9 to Sunday 11 May | Steamed crab on glutinous rice in a pink cast-iron pot, plus a 5 course and a 9 course menu | $288 for the pot | | 2026 | Not documented | The Mother's Day Signature Experience: an XL+ whole crab in Chilli or Ginger and Scallion style | Not documented, XL+ crab is $128.80 on the standard size list | Prices are as of October 2026 and are shown for the record. Both offers were a limited run and have ended. The 2025 special menu was marked as exclusive to 39 Tyrwhitt Road, and the full crab range is prepared there. ## Why crab for Mother's Day? The kitchen's catalogue does not explain the choice, and we are not going to invent a reason. What we can say is that crab is the second half of the kitchen's name and that the dining room at Tyrwhitt Road is where whole crab dishes are served. ## How do you book a Mother's Day table? Dine-in tables at the flagship are booked through the kitchen's reservation page. The kitchen's published rules say that Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays need a small deposit, which covers every Mother's Day weekend. We do not hold the booking date for either year, so if you want a table next May, join the [list](/join/) and watch for the announcement. ## When do Mother's Day pre-orders open? We do not have an evidenced date. The 2025 window is documented, the 2026 window is not, and neither tells us when booking opened. We do not guess. ## How should you plan? - **Book early and expect a deposit.** The weekend falls on days that need one. - **Plan crab a day ahead.** Whole crab dishes ordered through the ordering site need one day's notice. - **Choose the right outlet.** The AMK Hub kiosk carries only the Crab Bee Hoon Soup and the Crab Laksa Bee Hoon, not a centrepiece. The Mother's Day offers were at the flagship, as described on the [outlets page](/outlets/). - **Think about allergies.** The centrepieces are whole crab, so shellfish allergies matter. The kitchen's products also contain nuts, eggs, dairy and gluten. - **Remember the dietary position.** There is no pork and no lard in the kitchen, and the kitchen is not Halal-certified. You can read the fuller account of each year in the two posts listed below. When the kitchen announces a Mother's Day set, the live listing appears on the [ordering site](https://buy.chickenpie.sg). If you want to understand the crab dishes the kitchen serves all year, the [crab page](/crab/) is the starting point. --- # National Day at the kitchen: Golden Salted Egg Crab URL: https://donpieclub.sg/seasons/national-day/ **Quick answer:** The kitchen's National Day dish is Golden Salted Egg Crab, a whole mud crab wok-tossed in a dry-style salted egg yolk gravy with curry leaves and a hint of chilli padi. It is priced Medium $68.80, Large $88.80 and XL $108.80, needs a day's notice, and was still listed as a limited-time special in October 2026. National Day is 9 August, and the kitchen's National Day item is a crab. The catalogue describes Golden Salted Egg Crab as a seasonal dish and the launch copy that came with it is National Day wording. ## What appears at National Day? One dish that we can document, and a companion. The dish is Golden Salted Egg Crab. The ordering site also listed a Golden Salted Egg Prawn dish as a limited-time special when we read it on 3 October 2026, and we hold no price for it. | Size | Price | Same size, signature dish | | --- | --- | --- | | Medium | $68.80 | $58.80 | | Large | $88.80 | $73.80 | | XL | $108.80 | $88.80 | Prices are as of October 2026. The catalogue lists no Regular size for this dish. ## What is the dish? A fresh whole mud crab, wok-tossed in a dry-style salted egg yolk gravy with curry leaves and a hint of chilli padi. In the photograph the coating clings to the crab as golden crumbs, with curry leaves beneath and salted eggs beside. The kitchen's menu states that its mud crabs come from Sri Lanka and are delivered daily. ## When does the National Day dish appear? We cannot document the year or the dates of the window, and we have not been able to establish a standing date for pre-orders. What we have is the dish, its National Day launch wording and its continued listing as a limited-time special in October 2026. This is the thinnest of the four season pages for that reason, and we would rather say so than pad it with a pattern we cannot prove. ## How do you order it? - It is an advance order. The catalogue asks for one day's notice for whole crab dishes. - It is prepared at the Tyrwhitt Road flagship, where the full crab range is cooked. The AMK Hub kiosk carries only the soup and the laksa. - Delivery fees depend on distance, and the ordering site does not allow amendments or cancellations after payment. - The kitchen's [ordering site](https://buy.chickenpie.sg) shows whether the dish is currently listed. Seasonal items elsewhere in the year are on the [calendar page](/seasons/). ## What should you know about allergens? The dish contains shellfish and salted egg yolk. The kitchen states that its products contain nuts, eggs, dairy and gluten. There is no pork and no lard in the kitchen, and the kitchen is not Halal-certified. ## Where to read more The full write-up, with a size-by-size comparison, is in the post below. The six signature crab dishes, of which this is the seasonal one, are on the [crab page](/crab/). If you are choosing between a whole crab and a shared set, the [post on the three crab sets](/news/three-crab-sets-for-sharing/) compares them. --- # The crab side of the kitchen URL: https://donpieclub.sg/crab/ Sizes and prices (SGD, as of October 2026): - Regular (350 to 400g): $39.80 - Medium (500 to 550g): $58.80 - Large (600 to 650g): $73.80 - XL (700 to 800g): $88.80 - XL+ (weight not published): $128.80 ## Crab Bee Hoon Soup The dish the kitchen calls the one that started it all: an umami stock cooked with herbs including dang gui (angelica root). Options at the ordering stage include no bee hoon, no coriander and no spring onion. ## Black Pepper Crab Bee Hoon A rich, aromatic gravy cooked with freshly ground premium black pepper. The catalogue offers an extra spicy option and notes an extra strong option. ## Crab Laksa Bee Hoon A laksa broth blended with fresh herbs and spices, served with the whole crab. Extra spicy and extra strong options are listed. ## Cheese Crab Bee Hoon Crab in a cheese sauce. It contains dairy, and it is offered in Medium size and above only, so the entry price is the Medium. ## Chilli Crab A blend of sweet, spicy and savoury elements. Mantou is an optional add-on, and an extra spicy option is listed. ## Golden Salted Egg Crab The seasonal dish: whole mud crab wok-tossed in a dry-style salted egg yolk gravy with curry leaves and a hint of chilli padi. It has its own prices: Medium $68.80, Large $88.80, XL $108.80. --- # Outlets URL: https://donpieclub.sg/outlets/ ## Tyrwhitt Road flagship (Jalan Besar) 39 Tyrwhitt Road, Singapore 207538 Hours (as of 8 October 2026): Sunday to Thursday: 10am to 9pm (last order 8.30pm); Friday, Saturday and the eve of a public holiday: 10am to 10.30pm (last order 10pm) Crab: Full crab range, including the seasonal crab dishes and sharing sets. The Don Pie Club is the kitchen’s community: a mailing list, first word on seasonal drops, and event invitations. There are no points, no tiers, no discounts and no member pricing, and we will not hint that there are. ### What does joining the list get me? Three things: the news before it is posted publicly, a heads-up before seasonal pre-order windows open, and invitations to events. That is all. You can join on the Join page, and every message carries an unsubscribe link. ### How do I hear about seasonal items first? Join the list. Seasonal windows, such as Chinese New Year, Mother’s Day, National Day and Mid-Autumn, are announced to the list first and then written up in the news. The calendar page shows what each season has brought so far. We have no evidenced date for when pre-orders usually open, so we do not state one. ### Are there events, and does Chef Don Lim attend? Chef Don Lim still appears at the kitchen’s events. Dates are announced to the list first. We do not list upcoming or past events on the events page because we hold no evidenced dates, and we will not invent any. ## The kitchen and the names ### Who is DonChef? DonChef is the name Chicken Pie Kitchen & Don Signature Crab bakes under today. Every pie that leaves the kitchen is a DonChef pie, made to the original recipe that Don Pie founder and kitchen co-founder Chef Don Lim created in 1983. ### What is this site, compared with the other Don sites? This is the news site: dated posts, seasons, events and the list. The recipe’s story is at the story of the original Don, the outlet and menu guide is at donpies.com, and buying and delivery are covered at a fuller guide to buying and delivery. We do not repeat them here. ### Is there a Don Pie in Toa Payoh? No. There is no Toa Payoh outlet today. Toa Payoh is part of the history, and the nearest current outlet is the AMK Hub kiosk, three MRT stops north on the North-South Line. The Tyrwhitt Road flagship in Jalan Besar is the other nearest option. See the outlets page. ## Food, crab and diet ### Where is the crab served? The Tyrwhitt Road flagship serves the full crab range. The AMK Hub kiosk serves a limited range: the Crab Bee Hoon Soup and the Crab Laksa Bee Hoon. Wisma Atria, Tiong Bahru Plaza and White Sands are pie kiosks with no crab. The crab page lists the six signature dishes. ### How much notice does a crab dish need? Whole crab dishes need one day’s notice before the serving date. The Luxurious Seafood Bee Hoon and The Flounder’s Crabby Choice sets need three hours. Seasonal items follow their own windows. Order on the kitchen’s ordering site, buy.chickenpie.sg. ### Is the food halal? There is no pork and no lard in the kitchen, and the kitchen is not Halal-certified. The kitchen does not claim that any of its products are Halal. Its statement was last reviewed on 25 August 2026; our post on the review sets out the position and where to read it in full. ### Do the pies contain pork or lard? No. There is no pork and no lard in the kitchen. The kitchen states that its products contain nuts, eggs, dairy and gluten, that crab dishes contain shellfish, and that the crab soup is cooked with Chinese cooking wine and herbs including dang gui (angelica root). ### Are online prices the same as the printed menu? Not necessarily. The printed menu is dated 28 February 2026 and says dine-in is subject to service charge and prevailing tax. Online and delivery prices may differ. Our February 2026 menu post sets out the printed prices as of October 2026. Always check the official site. ## Ordering, delivery and bulk ### Do you deliver? Yes, by advance order. Delivery uses third-party drivers, the fee depends on distance, festive surcharges can apply, and the delivery time is best-effort, not guaranteed. The kitchen’s home page mentions free islandwide delivery above $200. The live figure is on the ordering site, and our delivery post explains how the terms have changed. ### Can I place a bulk order? Yes. The kitchen takes bulk orders from 100 pieces upward, and custom pies are possible. Write to marketing@chickenpie.sg. Charity and school requests go to the same address with the item, size, quantity and date. For planning numbers in general, a guide to bulk order pies, minimums and lead times is on donpieshop.com. ### What are the opening hours? As of 8 October 2026: the Tyrwhitt Road flagship is open Sunday to Thursday 10am to 9pm (last order 8.30pm) and Friday, Saturday and the eve of a public holiday 10am to 10.30pm (last order 10pm). The AMK Hub, White Sands and Tiong Bahru Plaza kiosks open 10am to 9pm daily, and Wisma Atria opens 10.30am to 9.30pm daily. Kiosks may close earlier if sold out. See the outlets page. ### Why do some news posts say a set was a limited run? Because it ended. Each post’s order line says either what is listed on the ordering site now or that the item was a limited run, so you never chase something that has gone. Prices shown for past items are for the record, as of October 2026, and are not offers.
